Well let me tell you this has been the best birthday ever! Or should I say so far? On my birthday I had a very small family barbeque at my cousins house than my cousin took me and two of his friends to see my favorite and thee best (in my opinion) Depeche Mode Tribute band out there Blasphemous Rumours all the way in Riverside which was about an hour and a half drive away!! I couldn't thank my Cousin and singer of BR, Andy enough! It was too much fun! I'm so grateful !
"Blasphemous Birthday"
How Glamourous I look blowing out the candles! Nothing says hotness like rollers in your hair and no makeup! haha
My cousin Erich's dog, Reggie enjoying some birthday cake!
Preparing for Glamifacation!
Voila! Glamified and ready to go!
I wore my DM shirt, Black Pencil Skirt and wore my favorite seamed stockings with my garter belt and some heels!
If only it were really Depeche Mode than it would really be the best birthday ever! But this was close enough. :)
Blasphemous Rumours hits the stage!
"David's Gone" Andy's about to sing woo!
"Counterfeit Martin" Brent performed "Somebody" beautifully.
"Alan Wildest" Dave celebrated his birthday the same day as Me! Happy Birthday Dave!
Andy ready for a Gahan Spin!
Image of Marilyn Monroe during "Shake The Disease" ( that's another reason I love BR all the awesome Vintage clips set to DM songs that night I spotted Bondage Bettie Page during "Master And Servant" and Silent film stars!)
With Brent and Andy! I really really couldn't thank Andy and BR enough for making my 20th Birthday soo fun and memorable! It was really sweet of them to announce and wish me a happy birthday during the show and I was soo pleased they played "But Not Tonight"!!
Here's some quick footage I shot that night of BR performing! (Yup there the closest to the real deal, no lip syncing or faux instrumentals!)
"Birthday Party"
This was my post Birthday outfit. That's the shirt I wore to the show, my DM Violator Rose shirt that I just adore! It was a gift to myself. I paired it with my "Dave Gahan sunglasses" and "Dave Jacket/ Martin Bondage Purse".
My Birthday Cake. Since I turned the same age as one of my favorite DM albums, the Violator album. I decided to use it as the theme of my party. I made and decorated the cake myself. I say it's some of my best cake work by far.
Blowing out the candles!
Since It was a themed party I decided to have guest dress up like a DM member or DM character from a Violator Music Video or other. I literally stood up for two days without sleep trying to finish my costume. I finished it, but never wore it. It was super heavy, plus it was about 102 degrees outside! Can you guess what it is? If your a DM fan you might know. It will most likely become my Halloween costume. ( I'll give you a hint, it's from Violator : D)
This is one of my very good friends Andrea. I call her my Depeche Mode Sister of my Soul! Were soo much alike and have so many of the same interests! I was thrilled she dressed up! She was one of the girls from the DM "Strangelove" music video! Which just happens to be my favorite music video on the planet by any artist! (well one of my favs, it's hard for me to choose)
(Clips from the DM music video "Strangelove" which is from my tied favorite DM album Music For The Masses)
But never fear I dressed up as well! I wore a Blue dress, and on the Violator album there just happens to be a song called "Blue Dress"! It's a really beautiful and romantic song! It's one of my favorite DM songs ever! I also wore Rose accessories and my DM Violator buttons!
Me and my cake!
"Happiest Girl" I'm so Violator! lol ( Incase your wondering Happiest girl is a bonus track from Violator)
Inside my cake; Red Velvet! It blended in great with the color scheme!
Yum-o! All gone!
Centerpieces, Red Roses I bought Downtown.
Birthday Candles, reminds me of a clip during the DM "Policy of Truth" music video (It's also on Violator).
(a shot from "Policy of Truth")
It really really was one of thee most fun and memorable birthdays I've ever had and I owe it all to Family, Friends and how can I go without saying..Depeche Mode!!!
